»SITE organizes seminar on economic growth and development
On Thursday September 9 the Stockholm Institute of Transition
Economics (SITE) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will host
a discussion on what drives economic growth in developing
countries and the implications for international development
cooperation. The starting point of the discussion will be an
introduction by Joakim Stymne, (State Secretary to the Minister
for International Development Cooperation) and the presentations
of two reports on this topic by Arne Bigsten (Göteborg
University) and Andreas Bergh (Lund University). Comments on
these will be given by Mia Horn af Rantzien (Ministry for
Foreign Affairs), Lisa Roman (Swedish International Development
Cooperation Agency) and Jakob Svensson (IIES, Stockholm
University). The discussion will be moderated by Torbjörn Becker
(SITE).
