Female Economist of the Year at Stockholm School of Economics is an annual and unique scholarship initiated by Barbro Ehnbom & Friends. It is offered in cooperation with American Express and a number of sponsors.

The Scholarship provides a two-year, tailor-made working experience at American Express. The long-term objective of the scholarship is to inspire and promote young and ambitious women - and increase the number of talented female executives in top positions at Swedish corporations and on their boards.

“As one of our Selection Committee members said after having interviewed this year’s four finalists, they would all make great representatives for the FEOY Scholarship! All four have impressive international experience already and significant involvement with many aspects of the student body and professional sports at the school. However, one stood out in her early commitment and skillful implementation of strategy to become Female Economist 2009. In light of the importance of this year’s on-going centennial celebration at SSE, I am very pleased to present not only such a highly qualified but also poised and well spoken winner. Our heartfelt congratulations to Carolina!”   Barbro Ehnbom
