FEOY 2001 - ANNA LEVANDER

The Female Economist of the Year 2001 is Anna Levander.

From a group of highly qualified candidates she was appointed the first FEOY and received the FEOY glass sculpture specially created by top Orrefors designer Erika Lagerbielke at the awards ceremony held at the famous Confidencen in August last year. An entrepreneurial mindset coupled with proven leadership skills made this double-major (marketing & accounting and managerial finance) the selection committee's candidate of choice.

Anna's comments on the Scholarship

When I saw the scholarship announcement I thought to myself - this is too good to be true. An opportunity to combine a great professional experience with a cultural endeavor only comes once in a lifetime. I have not been disappointed! The challenges I'm facing on a daily basis have given me a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in the American corporate world as well as a greater knowledge of the complex pharmaceutical industry. Working with marketing and product management enables an interaction with a large variety of market incumbents providing a great networking opportunity which is priceless in striving towards greater challenges in years to come.
