Rules of Engagement
If you are a student looking for a suitable subject you can check out my list of interests and suggested thesis topics below. This list is designed as suggestive of my interests. The actual topic should be reasonably close to the topics I suggest. Please note that
1.
Proposed topics are rather technical
and you should not expect me to give you a data set ready to be used in
excel (i.e., if you are not
willing to spend time collecting/cleaning data, please go somewhere else);
2. You should have some basic knowledge of econometrics. Moreover, the topics I am interested in require some programming skills (i.e. you will have to use real econometric programs and not excel);
3. If
you feel that I might be a suitable tutor, please send me an email with a
memo (no more than 2 pages) describing your ideas, your priorities and
constraints. You should suggest what
is the goal of your thesis (not just copying a topic title from my
webpage). I will reply to you
within one week. If my initial reaction is positive, I will suggest a
short meeting to outline the project scope and timeline.
Remember that
thesis supervision is a quite time consuming task and I may turn down
students both for time and subject constraints.
