A brief presentation
Effective from November 1 2005 I am Head of The Research Institute of Industrial Economics (formerly IUI). See www.riie.se. I remain professor at the SSE.
Since my dissertation in 1990 dealing with empirical determinants of public sector growth, I have mainly done research on the determinants of economic growth both in Sweden and across countries, and on the effects of different rules of the game for entrepreneurship on growth, firm structure, industry structure, ownership structure and employment structure.
In all above fields I have published extensively both in international scientific journals and in Sweden. Collaborators over the years include Steven J. Davis from the University of Chicago and Nathan Rosenberg from Stanford University.
I was a member of the SNS Economic Policy Group in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1998 and 2006. Among other extramural activities one may mention experience from international banking (1981–83) and extensive involvement as advisor, lecturer and board member both in private industry and the public sector.
